Call for Papers - GSCOPE 2005
Teachers College, Columbia, New York City, April 1-3

All graduate students are invited to submit papers for the first bi-annual Graduate Student Conference on Philosophy and Education (GSCOPE), to be held at Teachers College, Columbia University, April 1-3. This inaugural conference is being generously sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic States Philosophy of Education Society. The purpose of the conference is to provide a space in which graduate students from the United States, Canada, and abroad can present ideas, workshop papers for future publication, and build a community of future scholars of the field.

Papers will be accepted for formal presentations, workshop sessions, and panel discussions, dealing with ideas that can be broadly located at the intersection of philosophy and education. Those participants interested in formal presentation
should submit papers of 2000-4000 words. For workshop sessions, shorter papers of 1000-1500 words that are designed to address a work in progress or a theme for discussion should be submitted. Panels should jointly submit their work along with a brief proposal of the format in which they will be presenting (short papers centered on a theme; responses to a particular paper, etc.). Papers and proposals should include an abstract of 50-100 words. All work submitted must be formatted with a cover page containing the author's name, university affiliation, mailing address, phone number and e-mail address; on subsequent pages, please remove all author identification.

Please send four copies of the paper to the address below, along with one copy as an e-mail attachment in Word format.
